The West Site of National Taiwan University Hospital is a Western-style building built during the Japanese colonial period. It has an elegant appearance and a late Renaissance style. One of the interesting designs is the "bull's eye windows", so named because these round windows look like bull's eyes. You can see them on the third floor of the building's front, under the central gable, and on the second floors of the left and right towers.
These windows are surrounded by rudder-shaped washed stone decorations, adding a delicate design touch. The decorative lines on both sides of the windows are connected to the white horizontal strips, giving the overall building a more layered feel.
The most special feature is the bull's eye window under the central gable. The arched decoration above it looks like a bull's jaw, reminiscent of the Taiwanese buffalo. In addition, Taiwan’s specialty fruits, such as bananas, wax apples and pineapples, are carved around the windows, giving the building a strong Taiwanese feel.
